TSR released a press statement. Yes, the company that was resurrected, abandoned and them disappeared is back. What does this even mean? Before Dungeons and Dragons, Wizards of the Coast first published another fantasy RPG. Sales of Talislantia 3E funded the creation of Magic: The Gathering. Finally the UK Games Expo is happening at the end of July. With expanded safety measures that they won’t enforce. Sounds fun. #tsr #talislantia #ukgamesexpo #mtg #wotc

The Weekly LIVE 091: Five Parsecs from Home, Reign in Hell and Star Wars Legally Sucks

Five Parsecs from Home is a solo adventure wargame. by Ivan Sorensen. Modiphius is publishing a physical copy of the third edition. Reign in Hell is fast, brutal demonic themed tabletop wargame by Adam Loper and Vince Venturella at Snarling Badger Games. Similar to Warcry and Kill Team even down to using the same size playmats. Both games are minitures agnostic rulesets to play with miniatures and terrain you probably already have. And finally the Star Wars sequel trilogy is sited as an example in a current legal decision, proving the with legal precedence those films do suck.

The Weekly LIVE 090 – Warhammer Plus Announced, Netflix Wants to Make Games and Hybrid GenCon 2021

Games Workshop announced the platform for their eleven animated series. Warhammer Plus. No further details given until next month, neither price nor additional content. Netflix is actively looking into developing games and has approached veteran game designs. After the failure of Amazon, owner of Twitch, to become a game developer, it doesn’t make much sense. Finally, Asmodee and Paizo announced they will not attend the physical event in Indianapolis, but will provide virtual supports with online gaming sessions and Livestreams. There will also be PopUp GenCon support at local game stores.

Episode 224: Alien RPG Cinematic Starter Review

Our in-depth review of the Alien RPG Cinematic Starter by Free League. More than 90 minutes of overview, analysis and some spoilers for the free PDF adventure, Chariot of the Gods. We start with a summary of the Year Zero System used in the game and how it differs from previous Free League releases like Forbidden Lands and Mechatron. There are also the stress, consumables and PVP mechanics that are unique to this system and setting. We discuss the use of props and sound effects and their effect on the sessions. We played through the adventure in 4 game sessions that are available on our YouTube and Twitch channels.

If you are curious about the Alien RPG and its system and setting this should give you a very thorough idea of how this game plays and if you want to bring it to your gaming table.

The third, but not final session, of the Cinematic Starter for the Free League Alien RPG available for download with all pre-orders of the game. Cinematic adventures are one-shot scenarios with pre-generated characters that replicate the tension and high body count of the Alien movies.

After restoring the reactor and repairing the engines the Cronus is now up a running and auto-pilot takes over. Thank you, special order 966. We are down one player this session so Cham will be an NPC for now.

Our only complaint about the PDF is that it is not very printer-friendly being mostly light text on a black background. So we created a printer-friendly version of the character sheet and a player reference to help anyone interested in trying this adventure.
