Various versions of The Rise of Skywalker have leaked. An Alan Dean Foster treatment and an early script draft by the dismissed director Colin Trevorrow. We have posted our review with the return of Alan to the podcast. DC Comics is releasing a 40-page sourcebook for their fantasy series, The Last God. Oni Press gets into boardgames. The return of the coolest boardgame to ever hit the planet (their words, not mine), Dark Tower is resurrected as The Return to Dark Tower. It burned up Kickstarter and hopefully won’t disappoint. Idle Red Hands Weekly 041: Beyond the Monolith Cancelled, CMON Teburu, Riot Tabletop and Space Marine Adventures at Target

Monolith Games cancels the Kickstarter campaign for their new concept, Beyond the Monolith. CMON is working on a new interactive hybrid of technology and physical boardgames called Teburu. Riot Games launches Riot Tabletop, hoping to create a real-life toxic tabletop fanbase modeled on their League of Legends success and paid for with Chinese money. Games Workshop puts Space Marines Adventures in Target stores and Barnes and Noble makes exclusive expansions for it. Fantasy flight shutters their Interactive division. The TTRPG department is also laid off. We still don’t know what this means for their RPG systems and settings.

Modiphius will publish a deluxe version of Rangers of Shadow Deep by Joseph A. McCullough, the creator of Frostgrave and Ghost Archipelago. Preorders are now open on the Modiphius online store for delivery in February 2020. American High School RPG was a success. Hunger and Thirst are now in print and available on Itch.io. Reclaimer RPG by Chad Walker Kickstarter canceled due to photobashed artwork. Modiphius is producing 32mm miniatures for the World of Darkness RPG. Cubicle 7 Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader RPG Humble Bundle. Magpie Games, maker of Bluebeard’s Bride RPG, is currently having an online store sale. Blood of the Phoenix boxed set has new plastic Aeldari miniatures and is being split by Jeremy and Lyal. Probably unboxed as well. And your comments about our comments.

Lyal subs in for the now toothless Chris. Okinawa Comic-con happened. Modiphius is working on the Homeworld Revelations RPG based on the classic PC RTS game. Grimlord Games has a Kickstarter for Grim Dynasty, a Chinese-themed expansion for their Village Attacks boardgame. The new edition of Mercenaries, Spies and Private Eyes by Flying Buffaloe arrived and Lyal talks about solo adventures and the use of backstory for TTRPGs. We look to Good Bad Flicks on YouTube for RPG inspiration.

The first session of D&D 5E playing the Lost Mines of Phandelver and the excellent utility of the 5E Essentials rulebook. Consent in Gaming by Monty Cooke Games (which is FREE but requires you create an account) and suspicions of their motives as well as the actual good a document like this can do. Bitter Reach is the expansion for the Forbidden Lands RPG by Free League (not Bitterlands as was mysteriously reported previously) along with a reprint of the core set. Alien is not Star Trek and other GMing mistakes in the comments.
